Kiersten's Baptism Day
The day of Kiersten's baptism was like no other day I've ever had. The spirit was so strong that day!
We had to be at the church at 8:30 am and since getting 4 girls ready plus myself and a husband is no small task, we began preparing the day before. We laid out all their outfits, had them all shower, and I braided Kylie's and Avery's hair so it would be fast (but still cute) in the morning.
We managed to get out of the house in record time and headed to the church. We had a lot of family and friends coming to celebrate this special day with us and we wanted to make sure we were there to welcome them.

Isn't this a lovely picture at 8:30 in the morning?! We didn't have much time for pictures, so this is really the only family one we got.
Kiersten's cousin Jacie is her age and they are the best of friends. Jacie turned 8 in May but decided to wait for Kiersten to be 8 as well so they could be baptized on the same day. We were so pleased with that decision.
That morning, a sad thing happened: Jacie almost didn't make it to the baptism! She woke up feeling very ill and her parents didn't know what to do. Her father, Jamie, gave her a priesthood blessing that her health would be restored and she would be feeling well enough to go through with her baptism. As soon as she got to the church, color came back into her pale face and she felt great. Isn't the priesthood amazing? I am so grateful to have this wonderful blessing in our lives and I'm grateful that Kaj is a worthy priesthood holder.

As soon as the opening hymn began, I was too choked up to sing. I looked at Kaj and he couldn't sing either. It was so great to look around and see our family and close friends there to support Kiersten in one of the most important decisions of her life. It truly was a remarkable day. I will never forget it !

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
Kylie, Kiersy and Avery couldn't wait for their first day of school! They have been counting down for weeks. We had a lot of fun doing some mom and daughter shopping getting them ready for the fall. I know a lot of moms get really teary this time of year, but if I'm being honest I must say I have been celebrating the last few weeks!!! I love my quiet, clean house!! (But of course, I'm happy my kids are having fun!). Did I mention the kids were looking into the sun for this picture? (Sorry Ave!)
Wow--it's amazing how much she looks like her daddy......he does that face too!
Cool Kylie throwin' her sign....
How cute is this little girl getting on the school bus! She was so excited she could hardly get through the morning waiting for it to be time to go to school!
